Bright Hill Pre-school was established in 2000 with the vision of developing and empowering the community in Babilon,Okuryangava with an estimated population of 50000, which is situated in the informal settlement of the capital city, Windhoek, Namibia. This presented an opportunity 30 years ago for the founders, Franz and Anne Müller who had it on their hearts to take care of the poor and the needy. The aim of the school is to reach out and bring education to children between the ages of 3 and 6 in the community at a very low fee. The school provides daily meals to the children, the elderly, as well as those affected by HIV/AIDS. As a way of empowering members within the community, the school saw it befitting to hire some of its staff from the local area (Babilon Community). They will also ensure that the hired staff goes through the proper training the job demands.
Our Vision & Mission Statement
At Bright Hill we see pre-primary education and the caring for families as the first steps to prosperous living. For this reason, the school is committed to providing underprivileged children in the Babilon community, access to quality education in a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment. It is our desire to make an impact in the community of Babilon and part of that desire is realised by our provision of breakfast and lunch to the learners who attend the school.
How can I get involved?
The School needs funding to be able to train members of staff and pay competent salaries. Currently all salaries are paid by donors, but the funding we receive at the moment is only enough to cover the basic needs of the school and provide minimal remuneration for all employees.
